First meeting!

Our first network meeting took place on Tuesday 12 April 2014, through Zoom. Bringing together members based in South Korea and the UK, we introduced ourselves and discussed the project in general. The network includes scholars working in Film and TV studies, fan studies, linguistics, translation and accessibility, which means that we have a wide range of approaches to thinking about the connections between the distribution, reception, and translation of Korean media in the UK and British media in South Korea.

It was great to finally put voices and faces to names, and to start thinking about how our individual interests intersect with each others’ and the project as a whole.

Our next meeting will be in July, but network members will present preliminary work and key ideas at the Busan Contents Market in June!
